"Sweeney Todd" Continues at 4th Street Theater Through April 6
Stephen Sondheim's musical "Sweeney Todd" is playing at the 4th Street Theater through April 6. Set in 19th century London, the musical tells the story of a mysterious man who returns to the city after 15 years of exile on trumped-up charges. Upon his return he finds that his wife poisoned herself after being raped by the judge who transported him and he vows for revenge on the judge and later the whole world.
Annual La Porte Mayor's Ball is Almost Here!
March is a big month for the La Porte Mayor. The newly renovated La Porte City Hall will be open for tours and the public is invited to come and see it on March 20. That same day, Mayor Blair Milo will be giving the State of the City Address. The following evening La Porte's annual Mayor's Ball will be held at the La Porte Civic Auditorium at 7pm.

Living History Demonstrations to Continue at Indiana Welcome Center
Visitors can learn about soldiers' lives during Civil War. The South Shore Civil War Memorial Trail's exhibit, "Region United, Nation Divided: Following Lincoln," will feature living history demonstrations on March 22-23, April 12-13 and April 26-27. Re-enactors from the 20th Indiana Infantry Company B will be present for the demonstrations at the Indiana Welcome Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Valparaiso Barnes & Noble To Host Book Fair Fundraiser for Opportunity Enterprises
The Valparaiso Barnes & Noble at 150 Silhavy Road will host a Book Fair Fundraiser for Opportunity Enterprises on Friday, March 21 in honor of Disability Awareness Month. OE will receive a percentage of sales when customers present a voucher for qualifying purchases. Vouchers are also good for online Barnes & Noble purchases made from March 21 through March 26, 2014.
Gymnastics Open Gym at The Courts!
A gymnastics open gym will take place at The Courts of NWI on Friday March 21 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The fee is $10 per person.
Snow Angel by David Lindsay-Abaire
Told through the journal entries the kids make on this single snow day, Snow Angel is a unique opportunity to experience the work of a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and the future talent of Chicago Street Theatre...The production runs March 14 through March 22 with performances at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 16. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ChicagoStreet.org or through the Box Office at 219-464-1636 X1 weekdays 10 AM to 2 PM and two hours prior to performances. Admission is $8 for Students and Seniors and $10 for Adults. Due to the limited seating in the studio reservations are strongly recommended.
